No men, no songs - but plenty of food and cheer

Risca Male Choir – Ladies Social Society – Meal at the Tamarind Restaurant – Thursday 19 October 2023

After a break for the summer, the members of the ladies’ social group are active once again, this time out celebrating a meal at the Tamarind restaurant in Risca.  We were joined by a few new faces (Ruth Williams, Judith Evans and Sue Morgan) as well as the “old” faces (you all looked stunning in your finery ladies). An enjoyable evening was had by all - catching up on recent events, including the Annual Concert and the birth of baby Isobel.  Congratulations to grandparents Cliff and Paula Edwards – Isobel is absolutely beautiful.

Anyway, back to the Tamarind. We met up in the bar for a chat and then all 17 of us sat down for a delicious meal and a drink or two.  The staff in the Tamarind always make us feel welcome – despite being short staffed on Thursday with several other large parties, they catered admirably with our orders.  However, they did ask us to sing for our supper after the meal – until we explained that it was our better halves who were the amazing singers – and the gents would be there the following Tuesday (24 October) to prove it.  They even asked for the Christmas concert dates!

We ladies always do our best to promote the choir and its events whenever we can and provide continued support.  Our next challenge – to recruit more members … (armed with RMC business cards in our purses!).

Thanks should be given to our partners, who, after a Thursday practice traditionally partake in the wetting of whistles.  They left their watering holes early to pick us up.  What gents!

Next - the ladies are looking forward to a day trip to sample the delights of the Bath Christmas Market (date to be agreed - end of November/beginning of December).
