COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER  DREAMS & WISHES

FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER, 2023
MORIAH CHURCH, RISCA

Having had a very successful Community Fundraiser in October 2022, I thought it would be a great idea to have another one for 2023, having had such great feedback following the first one.

This year it was organised with the Royal British Legion, Risca Branch, and we had the support of Risca Male Choir, Risca Salvation Army Band, Risca Primary School and Ty Sign Primary School.  Unfortunately, two other schools needed to pull out for different reasons. However, this did not take anything away from the success of the evening!

The evening was won over by Liam Veysey stepping up and talking about how the Dreams & Wishes charity had helped him when he was suffering with a brain tumour. He was able to show us photos of just how poorly he was on the screen behind him, and how far he has come since his dreadful illness.

The school choirs sang beautifully, and Risca Male Choir sang with gusto and great personality!

We had support from a lovely lady from Lloyds bank who came to sell tickets and programmes at the beginning of the evening and with her supporting us, we have been able to secure £500 match funding which has given us a brilliant total of £1800 raised for Dream & Wishes! This charity takes nothing in salaries for any of their supporters, every single person who works for the charity is an unpaid volunteer. So every single penny raised will go directly to the charity to grant dreams and wishes for the children who are poorly.

A big thank you to all who supported this wonderful evening.
